Our little girl has grown up. She made her way through school despite all the challenges against her and the obstacles thrown in her way. And against the odds she has gotten her self accepted to college and now is off on her own going to school. Marisa has a mild form of autism and has a challenge sometimes getting along in social situations and dealing with the every day stress of life. But the one thing she has always shown is the determination to be as normal as a life as she could have and has always challenged herself to go beyond what anyone expected of her.

So now we are heading to Jackson, Mississippi this fall. Our daughter Marisa is going to Jackson State University now and we are so proud of her and she is of herself. So we could not hesitate when it came to heading there for the parents weekend. Marisa called us to make sure we were coming last night and got so excited when we told her once again that yes we were coming and we have our plane tickets printed and our hotel reservations made. I have never been to Mississippi, let alone Jackson so it should be a good trip with new stuff to see and do.

My wife and i are going to be flying out on Wednesday morning to New Orleans and then renting a car to drive north. So we will be in Jackson, MS by late in the afternoon Wednesday. We will be staying Friday, Saturday and Sunday and flying out Monday morning. So we will have the whole weekend to spend with our daughter and in Jackson. We have our plane tickets arranged and rooms booked at hotels Jackson for that weekend so our preparations are complete on this end except for the packing.
